I explore symbiotic relationships in cities: skylines, grids, cultures, daily lives and conversations. Energy and composition may convey a walk downtown to the subway, a cocktail party, the stacked lives in an apartment building, sailing in the harbor, or the stark reality of an unexpected phone call. A look at how long-standing norms and change coexist.
The Artist I'm a Southern painter greatly influenced by almost 20 years in the District of Columbia before returning to Alabama. A self-taught artist, my work pursues color relationships, the contrast and ease of shapes, and contrasting movements to convey pushing forward, pushing back, a quiet interlude, a tenuous energy, or breaking free.
Now I'm decorating for the holidays, wrapping and shipping your gifts, and sipping hot chocolate! Most evenings I'm surrounded by family and pets, and painting into the night.
