The ArtistA Southern painter greatly influenced by almost 20 years in the District of Columbia, I now live in my Alabama hometown. A self-taught artist, my work pursues color relationships, the contrast and ease of shapes, and contrasting movements to convey pushing forward, pushing back, a quiet interlude or breaking free.
I explore symbiotic relationships in cities: skylines, grids, cultures, daily lives and conversations. A look at how long-standing norms and change coexist. Energy and composition may convey a walk to the subway, a cocktail party, stacked lives in an apartment building, or the stark reality of an unexpected phone call.
