What a great time in Nashville at Montgomery Bell Academy's MBA Art Show! One of my favorite things to do at art shows is meet other artists - left with new friends that made the days there fun and interesting. It was a great show and hope to be back next year.
Yes, I'm still pinching myself - I'm going to be in Kentuck Oct 12 & 13! Excited about my new work that will be shown there. If you've not been you must: it's an amazing Alabama tradition going for 48 years in Northport, AL (near Tuscaloosa). Fabulous artists, music, demonstrations by crafts people and makers, food and more! See you there!
One of the most thrilling art experiences I've had - absolutely amazing. Thank you High Museum in Atlanta!!
Spring commissions were fun and a cool new challenge: creating a rocket for the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11! CDF Research commissioned a rocket design inspired by a thermal model - so lots of bright colors which is right in my wheelhouse! My thanks to Sameer Singhal and his team for this amazing opportunity.
Surreal to have a piece exhibited in a museum: ECHOES Exhibit at the Wiregrass Museum in Dothan, AL. A very special time with my Alabama Women's Caucus for Art tribe.
Montgomery Bell Academy Art Show: my first Nashville show! Fab time meeting people, other artists and surrounded by amazing art. My thanks to the wonderful MBA team for making it a wonderful experience - and sold 2 pieces!
Ok . . . Pic 1: My first outdoor exhibit! Really liked by new tent, it worked great! Thanks, Amazon!! Pic 2: My sweet Molly came to visit! Pic 3: Lots of folks there! Love meeting new people! Pic 4: My oldest surprised me, came home from college for the show!!
Here's to the Monte Sano Art Show - my first outdoor show! To the ALWCA Showcase with Arts Huntsville! To the Wiregrass Museum Show "Echoes" - my first piece in a museum show! To the Montgomery Bell Academy Show - my first Nashville show!! CHEERS!
My first outdoor show is the Monte Sano Art Festival on Sept 15-16! I'm painting like mad and have lots of new pieces. Many are new directions for me that I can't with to exhibit! Stop by and see me! And enjoy other regional artists, great music and delicious food. Mark you calendar!
Summer in the south? Hot! But shady breezes and sweet tea keep us cool . . . In the studio I'm working a couple of commissions and trying a fabulous new paper I found. Take a look! Available on my website or at Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment, 2nd floor HAL Gallery. Stay cool everybody!
